As a Development Manager, you will drive power generation and storage projects through the development lifecycle, contributing to the growth of a wind, solar, BESS, and gas portfolio.
Working from origination through to late-stage development, you will contribute your own subject matter expertise and through coordinating both internal and external specialists.
We have multiple roles available with the option to work from offices in either Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, or Perth.
About the Role
As an individual contributor within a national team, you will be responsible for the following activities:
- Collaborate with internal and external land resources to identify and progress suitable project sites, including overseeing acquisition of rights/tenure strategy;
- Coordinate internal teams and external specialists to manage technical feasibility assessments for prospective sites;
- Strategically assess and prioritise development projects based
on constraints, ranking, risk, and commercialisation opportunity; - Lead landowner, community, and government stakeholder engagement activities in tandem with specialised business units.
- Directly contribute to and manage external consultants in the delivery of approvals, permitting, and grid connections workstreams;
- Support the wider business unit to develop a portfolio of commercially
viable projects; - Travel to regional project sites as required.
We're ideally looking for the following skills and experience:
- 5-7 years of renewable energy project development experience, ideally with demonstrable contributions to large-scale wind projects;
- Relevant tertiary level qualifications (e.g. engineering, environmental science, etc.) and/or relevant work experience in a related discipline;
- Proven knowledge and experience in the development of utility-scale energy projects in Australia;
- Ability to take ownership of project work whilst also coordinating and collaborating seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders;
- Valid drivers' licence.
